Fillingham named Sports Information Director at Shaw

Shaw University today announced that it has named Sherri Fillingham as Sports Information Director for the University. Fillingham has been working at Shaw University in another capacity for the past 18 months.
"Sherri brings energy, outstanding communications skills, and a
real passion for the job," said Jacques Curtis, the newly named
Athletic Director. "She's going to be a critical part of
building a national reputation for excellence for Shaw University
athletics."
Prior to coming to Shaw, Ms. Fillingham worked in communications at
the Howard University School of Divinity. She also has varied
experience in marketing, writing, and communications.
Fillingham holds a bachelor's degree in journalism with a concentration in public relations from Ohio University, where she also earned a master's degree in Sports Administration and Facilities Management.
During her college years, she worked in the Sports Information Department at Ohio University, and has also held positions with the Pittsburgh Pirates, and the Hagerstown Suns and Erie Cardinals minor league baseball teams.
Fillingham is originally from Hagerstown, MD, and moved to the Raleigh area from Gaithersburg, MD.
