Offensive Lineman of the Week: Edawn Coughman,
Shaw

Comments: Coughman anchored the Shaw
offensive line that allowed the Bears to accumulate 596 yards of
offense, while keeping senior quarterback Travis Robinson from
being sacked. The Bears gained 234 yards rushing, and 258 yards
passing. Robinson was not sacked and the JCSU defense did not tally
a quarterback hurry. On the night, the Bears averaged 5.7 yards per
rush and 9.5 yards per pass attempt.

Comments: Robert Holland scored the Hawks'
two touchdowns in a 28-18 loss to St. Augustine's on Saturday.
Holland caught 14 passes for 147 yards and two scores of 27 and 9
yards. With Saturday's performance, Holland exceeded the 1,000 yard
mark for receiving; ending the year with 1,078 yards as a
freshman.

Comments: Robinson paced the Bears in their
50-0 win over JCSU. The senior threw for 313 yards; 18 for 30
attempts and four touchdowns. Travis connected with four
different receivers for those scoring strikes. Robinson also rushed
for 39 yards on the evening.

Comments: Griffin had a career day in the
Vikings' 21-13 win over Virginia Union. He snagged the first
interception of his career, which he returned for 33 yards. He also
had a forced fumble, a fumble recovery, 1 sack for a loss of 7
yards and a QB hurry to go along with 4 tackles (2 solo, 2
assisted); including two tackles for a loss of 12 yards. The ECSU
defense pitched a second half shut out of VUU. The Panthers
never passed further than the Viking 44 yard line in the second
half.

Comments: Dixon had a career high 12 tackles
(8 solo, 4 assisted) in the Vikings' win over Virginia Union.

Comments: McKenzie intercepted two passes
and earned seven tackles against Chowan.
Rookie of the Week: Daronte McNeill, Elizabeth City

Comments: McNeill kept the Panther defense
off balance with his third 100+ rushing game of the season. He
finished with 117 yards on a career high 27 carries. His longest
run was for 29 yards and he also caught a pass for 16 yards.
Specialty Player of the Week: Daniel Mendez, Elizabeth

Hometown: Riverside, CA
Comments: Mendez was 3-for-3 in extra point
attempts and booted a career long 67 yard punt in the first quarter
versus Virginia Union. In the second half, where the Panthers were
held scoreless, Mendez kept VUU pinned deep in their own territory
as they only crossed midfield once.
Coach of the Week: Waverly Tillar, Elizabeth City State
University
Comments: Coach Tillar and the Vikings
defeated Virginia Union 21-13, forcing a three-way tie for the
Eastern Divisional title.
