Shaw Women's Tennis Advances to Regional

Raleigh, NC - (May 1, 2009) The Shaw Women's Tennis team has been
selected to participate in the 2009 NCAA Division II Women's Tennis
Championships at California University of PA in Washington, PA. May
6th through May 8th.
Wednesday's first match between West Virginia State and West
Virginia Wesleyan will start at 3:00 p.m. Shaw will take to the
court on Thursday, May 7th at 10:00 a.m. against Charleston and the
winner of this match will face the winner of West Virginia State
and West Virginia Wesleyan at 1:00 p.m. On Friday May 8th,
the final round will start at 10:00 a.m.
The Lady Bears of Shaw University won the 2009 CIAA Women's Tennis Championship title by one point over host Virginia State University Saturday afternoon on the VSU Tennis Courts. Both schools had tallied 50 team points with the number four singles position set to determine the champion.
